Fallon Medical Complex (FMC) is the sole community health care provider for a rural population in excess of 7,200 people spread over seven counties in eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Considered "frontier" by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services, this region has less than two residents per square mile.
FMC is a nonprofit corporation providing primary care, emergent care, and long-term care to its service area. It is comprised of a Rural Health Clinic (RHCC) staffed by two physicians and one physician's assistant, a 25-bed critical access hospital offering outpatient surgery on a monthly basis, a 27-bed skilled nursing home and rehabilitation center, and a home care department offering personal care services under a Medicaid waiver program as well as skilled care services under the Visiting Nurse Services program through the RHC.

The Montana Family Medicine Residency (MFMR) was created in 1996 to reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in Montana. Sponsored by a consortium led by Billings Clinic, St. Vincent Healthcare, and Yellowstone City - County Health Department, MFMR is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. This program, Montana's only graduate medical education program, is committed to training quality family practice physicians to practice in Montana and rural or otherwise underserved areas. The residency program works in cooperation with Billings Clinic, St. Vincent Healthcare, Yellowstone City - County Health Department and various physicians, physician groups and institutional providers throughout the region to offer a highly regarded residency experience.

Colstrip Medical Center is a rural medical clinic serving a population of approximately 2500 and is located 130 miles east of Billings, Montana. The clinic provides routine, urgent, special and preventative health services and also offers 24-hour on-call urgent care services. Colstrip Medical Center also provides specialty and preventive health services. Two full-time physicians, a physician assistant, registered nurses, laboratory and radiology personnel and physical therapists staff the clinic. Mental health services are provided via telemedicine with psychiatrists in Billings.

Roosevelt Medical Center is a 10-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with a medical staff consisting of a physician and two physician's assistants who provide services through the Rural Health Clinic, the CAH, the 24-hour Emergency Room, and the 42-bed Nursing Home. The CAH includes two beds in the Skilled Care Unit; a pediatric room and a "family-style" room are also available for the care of young patients or patients who are experiencing a serious or prolonged illness. Both allow the family to stay in the room with them, day or night. Roosevelt Medical Center offers inpatient treatment, out-patient treatment and therapies, physical therapy, and monthly Orthopedic, OB/GYN, and WIC clinics. Roosevelt Clinic, our Rural Health Clinic, offers immunization clinics, cardiac stress testing, and the dietary consults are provided by a contracted on-site Registered Dietician. Roosevelt Medical Center also funds the local volunteer ambulance service with volunteer crew members from the surrounding communities staffing the three ambulances in Bainville, Culbertson, and Froid.
In 1993, Roosevelt Medical Center became one of the six founding members of the Eastern Montana Telemedicine Network. Our interactive videoconferencing capabilities of the EMTN are used for staff training and medical education, as well as for general public education on health issues and related topics. Roosevelt Medical Center has participated in medical and emergent consults within a wide variety of specialty areas, and serves as a host site for those patients needing to consult with their Mental Health providers across Montana via video. Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH) is a Joint Commission accredited, CAH acute care facility licensed for 54 beds (including swing beds). FMDH has two operating room suites with recovery, a four-bed ICU, a four-bed telemetry unit, a medical/surgical wing, with OB and an emergency room all in close proximity to our nurses' station. The hospital recently completed a $1.2 million remodeling project that included a new nurses' station and emergency room. Average inpatient daily census is 10 patients, and we perform an average of 120 surgeries per month (most on an outpatient basis). Each month, the emergency room staff sees about 200 patients; each year FMDH delivers approximately 75 babies. FMDH has a dedicated, fixed-wing air ambulance that transports patients from throughout northeastern Montana to tertiary care facilities located anywhere in the United States.

Glendive Medical Center (GMC) has been providing medical care in Eastern Montana for 100 years. GMC is a fully integrated medical system that includes: Gabert Clinic, The Heritage Extended Care and Eastern Montana Veteran's Home.
GMC is a full service, 25-bed licensed acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency care, full medical and surgical services and an attached 75-bed skilled extended care facility. We are dedicated to being a leader in providing and promoting health and wellness to the residents of east central Montana and western North Dakota. GMC is a designated Critical Access Hospital.

Phillips County Hospital Association was incorporated in 1946 as a community, non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of owning and operating medical facilities to serve the needs of the people of Phillips County, Montana. The organization's service area covers 5,100 square miles (five times larger than the State of Rhode Island) and a population of 4,900 people (less than one person per square mile)---There are more cows than people in Phillips County. The Hospital Association owns and operates a 6-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and a federally-certified Rural Health Clinic (RHC). The organization completed construction of a new $4.4 million hospital in 2004, replacing a hospital built in 1952. The clinic was built in 1978 and remodeled in 2004. It houses 3 medical providers - a physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner. Both the hospital and clinic provide space and support for 21 visiting medical specialists and services. The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic lab services, physical & occupational therapy, emergency room, home health, radiology, ultrasound, cardiac stress testing, acute swing-bed care, Women-Infant-Children (WIC), mental health, nerve conduction testing and homebound personal care services. In October, 2005, the hospital purchased Hi-Line Retirement Center (46 nursing home & 16 assisted living beds plus 6 senior apartments) from an out-of-state corporation. Phillips County Medical Center now includes an integrated clinic, hospital & retirement center under one roof. The hospital retirement center boards, medical providers and employees work hard to provide high-quality health care services to people who live and work in the Phillips County as well as visitors. Phillips County Medical Center is well-managed, financially sound, enjoys solid community support and is fully responsive to patient, resident and medical provider needs.

In July of 1996, the health care facilities in Wolf Point and Poplar merged to form Northeast Montana Healthcare Services, Inc. (NEMHS). NEMHS is a non-profit organization, which owns and operates 2 Critical Access Hospitals, one free-standing Long Term Care facility and, 2 Rural Health Clinics. Both hospitals have provided quality health care to eastern Montana for over 40 years.
Our health care services encompass the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, located primarily in Roosevelt County. However we also deliver health care to parts of Valley, Richland, and McCone counties. In addition to the typical services offered, Northeast Montana Health Services has join ventures with the Indian Health Services allowing us to offer a variety of other services such as Cardiac Rehab. Although owned by the Fort Peck Tribes, the community boasts a dialysis center second to none.
Our medical staff consists of 4 physicians; 3 CFNPs, and 1 CNM. All Emergency Room services are covered by our private health care providers who are on call 24/7.

Daniels Memorial Health Care Center is committed to providing excellence in rural community health care. A 24-bed acute care hospital/swing Critical Access Hospital is attached to a 30-bed nursing home. The nursing home offers adult daycare. Included in the center is a medical clinic with Rural Healthcare status. The clinic is staffed by one physician and one physician assistant. Daniels Memorial also has a home health department that also manages the immunization clinic and community outreach services. An outpatient physical therapy department is staffed by two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant. The physical therapy department has the only hydrotherapy pool in Eastern Montana.

Sidney Health Center is a non-profit medical center providing quality healthcare services for over 90 years. Located in eastern Montana, Sidney is a rural community with a local population of about 6000. Due to the widespread population and vastness of rural Montana, Sidney Health Center's primary service area consists of 2079 square miles, with a secondary service area of 12278 square miles. Our facility employs approximately 400 individuals with staffing by 16 medical practitioners and many visiting specialists who provide clinics on a monthly basis. The facility has 27 acute care beds, licensing for 11 transitional (swing) beds, four intensive care beds, four obstetrical beds with a newborn nursery, an active outpatient surgery wing, emergency services, radiology, home health, hospice, the local ambulance service, 93 extended care beds, a clinic with private practice physicians and a pharmacy.
